With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. In the time since, we've seen two Mario Makers, Super Mario Run, and a Deluxe port of Mario U. The last two traditional 2D Mario games were New Super Mario Bros. Nintendo is calling this the first brand-new sidescrolling Mario game in over 10 years.
Pipes start moving, things (including Mario) start stretching, new collectibles appear, and the music kicks up in intensity. This changes the world around you and makes things go a little wild. The game gets even more trippy when you pick up a Wonder Seed, which looks like a blue, pulsating flower powerup. The playable characters available in Wonder include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Princess Daisy.
